Monterey Bay

Ever since I can remember, my family has always visited California whenever we had some vacation time. But although I consider Los Angeles to be a second home, I feel like I barely know California. So I was extremely excited this summer when we decided to take a road trip to the beautiful Monterey, California.

After picking up my younger sister from the University of California Davis, we drove about two hours to the adorable beach house we rented in Monterey. The beach house itself was quaint, comfortable, and part of the cutest little town. If you ever visit Monterey, I definitely recommend renting a beach house versus staying in a hotel. Not only is it cheaper, but it is walking distance from the beach and from dozens of delicious restaurants.

There are two things that I highly recommend when visiting Monterey: The Monterey Bay Aquarium and the 17-mile drive. The aquarium was one of the biggest aquariums I have ever been to and it was filled with amazing animals from otters to jellyfish, and even penguins! My favorite part in the aquarium is being able to walk onto the outside observatory deck and using binoculars to see the wildlife of Monterey Bay. I was able to spot two elephant seals, one lounging on a rock and the other swimming across the ocean. We went through the 17 mile drive on our way back to Southern California. The drive consisted of a variety of different sites with great views like the Lone Cypress and the Ghost Tree. The most memorable part of the drive back to SoCal was Seal Point. At Seal Point the shoreline was covered with juvenile and female elephant seals that came onto the shore to molt.

Overall, my trip to Monterey was a relaxing trip full of beautiful sites. If you have a big appreciation towards beaches and sea-life you need to plan out a trip to Monterey. I cannot wait to go back there!

Planner Spread: July 6-12

The Happy Planner

Hey everyone and welcome to my first planner spread post! So lately I've been OBSESSED with all things planner related. From watching "Plan With Me" videos to scrolling through different planner Instagram photos. Name it, I probably do it.

So to satisfy my need to plan, I went out to purchase 'The Happy Planner' from Me and My Big Ideas. This planner was about $24.99 and resembles the layout of the ever-so-popular Erin Condren planners but for a fraction of the price. You can find this planner at all Hobby Lobbys and some Michaels stores. Trust me, it's worth it. For this week's spread, I used washi tape from Hobby Lobby, stickers from MAMBI, and sticky notes from both Heidi Swapp and Daiso.

I'm excited to purchase more planner supplies (especially washi tape and stickers!) and see where this new hobby takes me. Hope you enjoy this spread!

hello there

Hello there! My name is Jenny V and I am a complete novice in blogging. I am twenty-three years old and currently live in Orlando, Florida. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's in Biology and currently attend pharmacy school. That being said, this blog is by no means something I would consider a career. As a matter of fact, I have no writing skills and hated it when I was younger. But I do follow a few blogs, a lot of youtubers, and really wanted to try and give it a shot.

So please follow me along as I embrace a new hobby and together let's see where this takes me. I hope you will all enjoy the adventures I share, my new found love in planners and organization, and anything else that I come across.

Love,
Jenny V
